Price trend

　　According to the data of SunSirs, the domestic maleic anhydride market price rose slightly on September 23. As of September 23, the average price of maleic anhydride remained at 13,433.33 RMB/ton, which was an increase of 0.75% from the average price of 13,333.33 RMB/ton on September 22 and it was an increase of 14.49% from the same period last month.

　　Analysis review

　　On September 23, the maleic anhydride commodity index was 126.55, an increase of 0.95 points from previous day, a record high in the cycle, and an increase of 147.26% from the lowest point of 51.18 on April 14, 2020. (Note: Period refers to 2011-09-01 to present)

　　The downstream unsaturated resin resin market was rising, and purchased just on demand mainly. On the upstream side, the downstream products of pure benzene stopped or fell due to “dual control”, resulting in serious capacity loss. Demand for pure benzene was greatly restricted, and prices fell rapidly; the market price of hydrogenated benzene fell; and the price of n-butane continued to rise.

　　At present, the domestic maleic anhydride market supply is limited, and some factories are pre-sold until the National Day holiday. The factories have no inventory pressure and the supply and demand are good. However, due to the recent power restricted in Jiangsu, the start of resin construction may decrease, and the market’s wait-and-see sentiment has increased.
